It’s official! Schuyler, Virginia will kick off its own Community Farmers’ Market next month on May 9th. Nelson’s newest market will run until October of this year. “Twelve people showed up to the first meeting and, as boring as a meeting like this may sound, we actually had a lot of fun. Many of us were meeting each other for the first time. There was a lot of joking around but we were serious about creating a farmers’ market, seeing it as an opportunity to meet our neighbors and to buy items produced by local farms, baked goods, handmade crafts, art work, photographs, etc,” says Buck Whitehurst, one of the co-organizers of the market.

The Market will be located at the Schuyler Community Center/Walton’s Mountain and opens each Saturday morning from 8:30 AM until 12:30 AM.
