Summer officially started Sunday morning around daylight. As the season kicked off, the weekend was packed lots of events across the area. In Amherst County just over the Nelson line the 1st Annual Summer Solstice Wine & Farm Festival kicked off on Saturday, winding down Sunday afternoon.
Sarah Gorman with Cardinal Point Vineyard & Winery pours up some wine for folks dropping by the festival this past weekend.
Eight Vineyards, as well as local farms, food, art and craft vendors were on hand for two fabulous days of the summer celebration.
And on the other side of the pavilion, Valerie with Wintergreen Winery pours up some wine at their tastings.
There was also music, cooking demonstrations, dance and theater demonstrations,the all ages bounce zone and presentations on organic and sustainable farming

Folks packed the Evans Center at Wintergreen Resort this past weekend at The Festival of Wine & Food.
And back in Nelson County up top at Wintergreen Resort it was the The Festival of Wine & Food at The Evans Center. The Saturday event was put on by Wintergreen Performing Arts was filled with music, wine, food and more. Our Paul Purpura was there to grab these shots. Thanks for sending them down Paul!
