Shipman Fire

[ 3 ] June 24, 2012 | Jennie

Shipman
Nelson County, VA

Strong storms moved through Shipman Friday afternoon with thunder and lightening. Joyce and Jack (of Shipman Auto, a business right beside the track), believe that the blaze ignited from a lightening bolt. They said they heard the lightening stroke the ground and felt it shake their shop, which is located just a few hundred yards from the building that caught fire. It took at least three fire trucks with fire fighters to battle the blaze.
