You know those crisp fall nights and frost can’t be far away when Wintergreen Performing Arts holds its annual Oktoberfest on the mountain. Our NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura, has made several of these over the years and was back for 2011 this past weekend.
This past weekend's event was a celebration of German culture and food, and beer! 21 different varieties!
People attending the event feasted on brats, wursts, German potato salad and kraut, along with American hot dogs and hamburgers.
The annual event has become a popular destination for people as summer says so long and fall takes hold across the Blue Ridge Mountains.
