One More Hot Day Then Much Milder

[ 0 ] July 12, 2011 | Nelson County Life

The heat index reached 117° Tuesday afternoon here at NCL in the Rockfish Valley around 3PM Tuesday afternoon. Above is a screen shot of our station reading around 3PM Tuesday.

Nelson County, Virginia
It was one hot day on Tuesday. Officially we hit the century mark here at NCL at 5:22 PM. But as you can see in the image capture above the heat index was much higher than that earlier in the day around 3PM. 117°! WOW! That’s because we had dewpoints in the mid and upper 70′s for most of the day.

There is some relief on the way. Much less humidity and moderating temps after we get through Wednesday, which will still be hot with temps in the mid 90′s!

Tommy talks all about it in his daily audio weather here.
