After a day of very strong winds, some gusting past 70 MPH at Wintergreen, power is being restored to areas that lost it due to the winds. CVEC has been busy all day working the lines restoring power to those without it.

Here’s their latest update as of 6PM Friday evening:

6:00 PM Update: Service to 1235 members in the Cunningham substation area has been restored, lowering the outage total to 636, including 338 in the Martins Store service area and 116 in the Pamplin substation service area. The remaining couple hundred are small outage pockets and individual outages. Please view the outage map for final details.

Winds will slowly die down over the remainder of Friday night, diminishing to 5-10 MPH after midnight.
