Wintergreen Adaptive Sports Kicks Off Practice Ski Session

Ski season is obviously in full swing at Wintergreen! This past weekend the folks over at Wintergreen Adaptive Sports held a practice session on the Tyro Slopes at Wintergreen Resort. Our NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura, was there on his skis to capture the afternoon.
Wintergreen Adaptive Sports is a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation whose mission is to improve the lives of people with a disability through outdoor sports and recreation.
As of 2010, WAS offers instruction in alpine skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, and canoeing.
Each of the participants went down two slalom courses and were given advice on how to improve their skiing.
WAS has been in existence for sixteen years at Wintergreen Resort.
WAS has been especially committed to serving injured military personnel returning from the global war on terror. In a few weeks the annual Wounded Warriors weekend will be held at the resort.
