Nelson County, Virginia

Several times this year the folks over at Rockfish Valley Volunteer Fire & Rescue have held their Pit of Dreams Mud Bog. They had another one this past weekend with lots of mud to go around! Ann Strober, who takes many of those beautiful weather shots you see displayed her at NCL, grabbed a few of the muddy pics! Hope you didn’t get too muddy Ann, and thanks for sending us the great pics!

The Mud Bog is just one of several events RVVFD puts on throughout the year to raise money for the fire and rescue operation based in Afton.

God, I’m so proud of how we care for our environment! I can see how a muddy mess beats a grassy field any day. Makes a lot of sense. Kudos to all involved.

  2. Nelson County Fire Department Volunteer says:

I can only hope that you do something to try to support the Fire Department, “all involved” are trying to support it the best way we can. The mud bog has now become a major fundraiser for one of our county department and without fundraisers like this we would not be able to serve the community at all hours of the day and in all weather condition, like “all involved” do.
