Nelson County, Virginia
After a hot day Tuesday, don’t look for much relief in the near future. Temps today will be in the lower 90′s rising to the mid and upper 90′s for the remainder of the week into the weekend. Scattered thunderstorms provided some relief Tuesday afternoon, but most stations received less than 1/10 of an inch of rain. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for part of the afternoon but was canceled before its 8PM expiration time.

Cooler temps are on the way by next week with afternoon highs in the mid 80′s, but lots of heat between now and then!

Nice shot Ann! I believe that is a Pipe Vine Swallowtail.

Like you I enjoy photographing butterflies too.
