One of Nelson County’s gem businesses took a beating late Saturday night. A major fire broke out at The California Sidecar Company in Arrington. Around 10PM fire units from several departments responded to the blaze. “One firefighter was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Lovingston, Piney River, Gladstone, Amherst Co, and Roseland Rescue all responded along with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department,” said Ray Uttaro, Nelson County’s Emergency Services Coordinator.
Though the fire is still under investigation, officials say it may have started in a dumpster in the back part of the building. The blaze was under control within a few hours.
California Sidecar Company makes a wide variety of motorcycle related sidecars, trailer, trikes, and accessories.
