Hard to believe it has been five years since NCL monthly paper showed up at the newsstands. Local personal stories have made NCL standout different from other newspapers.
With the advent of NCL webpage, daily updates really started to take off. It wasn’t long before there were weather stations, scattered over the county, linked to the page and with a daily local forecast to boot.
It was neat being in Maine on vacation and checking the NCL page to learn that Adam had just been born.
Now with the new infusion of stimulus funds to improve county broadband access, NCL will become more important in the daily information needs of Nelson from videos to live cams.
Just think down the road another five years. Adam will have a playmate, older than he is now, and he will be old enough to write his own articles. Who knows, maybe he will get some tips and take after that young writer from Schuyler.

Best wishes for many great years to come!

Congrats NCL!

Non-profits frequently need to access media to get their message out. So frequently, unless there is a negative slant to the message, just getting a return call from mainstream media is a challenge. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment, you are completely at the mercy of every single event within a 60 mile radius which may end up being more newsworthy. NCL provides a real-time LOCAL venue for routine and at times not so routine reporting.

Thanks for your hard work and dedication.

My how time flies! I can't tell you how much I enjoy NCL and look forward to every issue. My only complaint is that there are far too many photos of Tom Marker!
