Friday, Dec 11, JAMIE HEWITT , 6-9pm

[ 0 ] November 11, 2009 | StoneSoup

Singer/Songwriter JAMIE HEWITT – A local to Waynesboro, Jamie has been caught up in music since he was a pre-schooler, singing in choirs as early as five years old. This interest began to turn in a new direction and take on a life of its own when, after buying his first guitar while in high school, he began to teach himself to play by writing music. With no formal training to speak of, this process has been free to ebb and flow in a number of directions through the years and has yielded a blend of folk-influenced songwriting ranging from delicate finger-picking and vocals to moments of raw, open, and less-than-delicate dynamic presence. Convinced of the power of words, content has always been of primary importance to Jamie and a sense of honest introspection and lyrical depth is the thread that can be found to run throughout. Playing mostly originals with the occasional cover to pepper the set, Jamie invites those present to share in his love for music.
Dining and music from 6–9 pm. No cover charge. Space limited. Call for seating availability. Stone Soup Books and Café, 908 W. Main St., Waynesboro 540-943-0084, www.stonesoupbooks.net
