Our Paul Purpura was off the mountain once again Friday night to grab the action in Lovingston as The Nelson County High Govs took on the Staunton/Augusta Riverheads. This was the second game of the season for Nelson. The Riverheads won by a final score of 37-21. Last week NCHS kicked off the season opener with a no score game against Buckingham 14-0.

Paul tells us though the govs didn’t win, “Nelson did pretty good at the start of the game, they scored on their first possession, then Riverheads scored on theirs. Unfortunately, Nelson just could not maintain momentum, had a couple of interceptions, as well as penalties.”
Next week Nelson plays at Madison County High in their 3rd games of the season.
