One week turned into three, but Tim Gorman officially cut (or in this case, pulled the ribbon into) to officially mark the opening of Sk8 Nelson’s 1st phase of a skatepark on the grounds of The Rockfish Valley Community Center. The majority of the park was funded by private donations. We first told you about the construction underway a few weeks ago.

Tim Gorman, who spearheaded the effort, thanks the crowd on hand Saturday morning just before opening the skatepark.

Jacob Lane is one of the young men that's been helping construct the half pipe. Saturday he made it official!

Colin Bruguiere drops in at Saturday's opening. He and several other yougsters worked many afternoons with TIm to build the half pipe.
Tim tells us for every 50 dollar donation toward Phase II, the donor will receive a chance for in a ticket raffle to the upcoming U2 Concert in Charlottesville @ JPJ on October1st.
Congrats to everyone on a fantastic project and opening day!
