With a bit of crispness in the air this weekend, it was a perfect time for the St. Andrews Legion Pipes and Drums from Richmond to perform in the mountains at Wintergreen Resort. The afternoon performance is part of Wintergreen Performing Arts’ Summer Music Festival. Our Paul Purpura grabbed these shots Saturday afternoon.
As part of a free concert put on for the public, the band marches through the courtyard at Wintergreen.
According to SAPD's website, the group in appearance and demeanor is a military style pipe and drum unit with a full color guard party.
To the trained eye, certain attributes of the Highland Regiments of Scotland can be seen.
Wintergreen Performing Arts’ Summer Music Festival continues through the month of July until August 2nd of next month. More information at www.wintergrenperformingarts.org
