A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the areas highlighted in pink until 9PM Tuesday evening.

As we have been talking about much of the day, severe weather is a possibility across the area this afternoon and tonight. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has no been issued until 9PM EDT this evening as a result of dynamics developing that may contribute to a severe weather outbreak. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is also in effect for the area until 11PM EDT.
A large part of Virginia and the mid-south are in the slight risk area for severe weather this afternoon and tonight.
As shown above, a large area of the country may be in store for severe weather later this afternoon and evening.
