It was the first home game of the NCHS varsity basketball season, but a few points short of a win. Nelson lost 33-38 38-33 – Hat tip Millers - to W. Memorial.

Our newest NCL photographer, Ben Hernandez, grabbed these pics Friday night at Nelson County High School! while Paul Purpura was away in Vermont. Nelson County Life Magazine, along with many other area businesses are proud sponsors of the team this season!

Regardless, these guys played their hearts out and have a great chance to win many games in the upcoming season!

Next week, the Govs play against Gretna here at home, see you there!

Thanks Ben for the fantastic photos!

  1. The Millers says:

A pet peeve, if I may—the Govs lost 38-33, not 33-38——the lower score should never be stated first, unless it’s golf—thanks!!

  2. Thanks, The Millers. Obviously I don’t know sports. Weather I know, sports….well. Appreciate the correction and it has been made, and noted for future reference.
