Fire In The Night Sky

Afton – Nelson County, Virginia
If you were anywhere in the Greenfield / Afton area Monday night around the Rockfish Valley Community Center, you no doubt noticed the huge red glow in the sky behind the old elementary school. Not to worry, the RVCC is safe and sound! It was part of what’s called a controlled burn by area fire departments. RVCC was needing to rid themselves of the old classroom building, fire departments need buildings to practice on, a perfect formula!

This was the view facing Route 151 near the recycle center Tuesday night. Worth a double take if you didn't know what was happening.
